Jim Dale was only given 100 pages at a time
Harry Potter narrator Jim Dale says he was given only 100 pages of manuscript at a time to read and then record, so he never knew what was coming; and in order to keep track of the 146 voices he'd created, he often pre-recorded a bit of the characters' voices and then held a tape recorder up to his ear in the studio to remind himself. Salman Rushdie says J.K. Rowling challenged young readers

Magazine releases some new Half-Blood Prince images
In the latest issue of Empire Magazine the biggest movies of 2009 are profiled including Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. In it, director David Yates says about the sixth film, "It's all storytelling. In all honestly, I do the same thing as I've always done. Alan Rickman on the list for this year's Queen's honors
Alan Rickman, who is both loved and hated by Harry Potter fans for playing Severus Snape so well in the Harry Potter films, is among those due to be listed in the annual Queen's New Years Honours, according to the Daily Mail. Followup: The Hobbit not pushed back to 2012
On Monday here on Wizard News we linked you to a story widely repeated in the press that said The Hobbit may be postponed until 2012. Fan website TheOneRing.net says they have received confirmation from the source of all sources, the director of the film, Guillermo del Toro, himself, stating that this rumor is untrue. [more...]

Poll ranks Harry Potter most anticipated movie of next year
In a survey conducted between Aug. 8 and Oct. 5, nearly 4,000 movie fans who had just purchased tickets at MovieTickets.com picked their "most anticipated" films over the next 12 months. ABC Family channel buys latest Potter film rights
ABC Family has secured cable rights to the Harry Potter series by purchasing the rights to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, as well as Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, 10 months before its theatrical debut.
